Many people feel trapped in the life they lead, thinking there is no way out as they have left it all too late to change
What we think and believe to be our lot in life, are what limits us from living the life we desire.
There are times in our lives when we wish we had done things differently.
So often we hear people say ‘if I had my life to live over, I’d change the way I’d do things.” Then they continue doing the same things, so that everything in their life remains the same.
What makes the difference is what we have learnt from those mistakes. We need to look at those mistakes as life lessons and be willing to make changes to live a better life.
Sometimes it takes only a small change in the way we think or the way we do things.
To build the life we want, we need to think about all the relationships and things in our life that are important to us. Then eliminate everything else.
This simplifies our life and clears the way for the things we should focus on, that will change our life for the better.
Think about the things we are good at, the things we enjoy the most. Things we feel passionate about and the things that we get the greatest satisfaction from doing. These things are the things that can change our life around.
My method of sorting out things in my life is to write down three things that I want to change. These things are different for each person.
Then I take the three things, and then one at a time I write down how I’d like to change them or in some cases eradicate them from my life. Doing this gives me some direction for the changes.
The truth is that change is simply a process of choice and action.
I find that nothing clears my head like getting rid of the stuff that holds me back.
A friend told me that he wished he had trained to be a sport instructor, he told me that he was too old now as it would take two years and by that time he would be fifty. I mentioned to him that if he doesn’t do the training, in two years’ time, he will still be fifty and wishing he had started the training.
I spoke to him a few months ago and he told me that he is doing the training and that he couldn’t be happier.
A new definition of who we are brings new possibilities and a prospective of what we think we deserve and want in our lives.
Every journey starts with a single step forward, and as long as we continue to move in that direction, we will begin to change our lives for the better.
